Can someone point me to a simple labelled diagram of the engine bay for a 2001 E39 530i please? I need to figure out what the part to the left of the ATF container is urgently, and I haven't got a Haynes manual yet for this car (I live in the UK). Many thanks and again, I'm sorry for being a dunse and not knowing how to search/find effectively. The alternator, power steering pump, engine cover, fan, air filter box, and air flow sensor, AC comprossor, engine brackets are NOT included.

The E39 540 is notorious for cooling problems, although if preventive maintenance is performed, it's not a problem. I would be checking to see if there has been work done and if it was done on a preventive basis or a repair. If it was a repair, what was the failure and did the engine suffer damage because of an overheat situation.
