Crafting Charm: A DIY Farmhouse Coffee Table Guide

Gather Your Materials and Tools

- 2x4 lumber (for the legs and apron)
- 1x6 lumber (for the tabletop)
- 2.5" pocket hole screws
- 1.25" wood screws
- Wood glue
- Sandpaper (120 and 220 grit)
- Stain or paint (of your choice)
- Polyurethane
- Circular saw
- Drill and driver bits
- Jigsaw (optional, for decorative edges)

Design and Measure

Create the Tabletop
Lay out your three tabletop pieces and arrange them side by side. Apply wood glue along the edges and clamp them together. Allow the glue to dry completely. Once dry, sand the tabletop smooth using 120 and 220 grit sandpaper.
If desired, use a jigsaw to create decorative edges on the tabletop. Remember to sand any rough edges smooth.
Attach the Tabletop
Center the leg and apron assembly on the underside of the tabletop. Using 1.25" wood screws, attach the apron to the tabletop from the inside. Ensure the screws are countersunk and the tabletop is flush with the top of the apron.
Finish and Enjoy
Apply your chosen stain or paint to the coffee table, allowing it to dry according to the manufacturer's instructions. Once dry, apply a coat of polyurethane to protect the finish. Allow the polyurethane to dry completely before placing items on your new DIY farmhouse coffee table.
