App: Qarib — a prayer-times companion (Android & iOS)

Qarib is built to be calm, respectful, and private. We do not have user
accounts, and we do not collect or sell your personal information. We run no
service that receives your data; the only thing we host is a small static
sponsor-configuration file the app reads (described below). This policy explains
the small amount of data the app touches and why.

app store (Google Play or the Apple App Store). We never see your payment details.
are Google AdMob (the banner ad described below) and **Google Play Billing /
Apple StoreKit** (the optional Remove Ads purchase described below).
Qarib uses your device's location to:
Location is processed on your device and by your device's operating-system
geocoding service (to turn coordinates into a city name). Qarib never sends your
location to us, and no Qarib service receives it. You can deny or revoke
location permission at any time in your device settings; the app will then ask you to
choose a city or will show a limited experience.
Your preferences (calculation method, theme, reminders, kids-mode PIN, etc.) and your
record of completed prayers are stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the app
removes this data. It is never uploaded.
The app schedules local notifications and the adhan on your device to remind you of
prayer times. These are generated on-device; no notification data leaves your device.
You can export a backup file to move your data to another device. The file is created only
when you choose to, contains your on-device data, and only you decide where it goes —
Qarib never receives it. Keep the file somewhere private, as it includes your
settings (including the Kids Mode PIN).
Qarib displays a single small banner advertisement, served by Google AdMob. To keep
the app family-friendly:

Because these ads are non-personalized, Qarib does not track you across other apps or
websites, and does not request tracking permission (App Tracking Transparency) for
advertising purposes.
Even for non-personalized ads, Google may process limited data (such as coarse/contextual
signals and device information) to deliver ads, cap how often an ad is shown, and prevent
fraud and abuse. This processing is governed by Google's policies, not ours:
We (the Qarib developer) do not receive any personal information from these ads.
Some banners may instead be direct-sold sponsorships — a static image and a link to
the sponsor's website. To know which sponsorship to show, the app fetches a small static
configuration file over HTTPS from our cloud-storage bucket; this request carries no
account, no identifier, and nothing about you beyond what any web request necessarily
includes (such as an IP address, which we do not log or store). Sponsorships collect
no data about you; if you tap one, your device simply opens that link in your
browser.
Qarib offers a single optional purchase: Remove Ads (`qarib_remove_ads`), a one-time,
non-consumable purchase that permanently turns off banner ads on your account.
Store** (iOS). The store is the merchant of record.
no name. The app only learns whether the purchase succeeded.
Settings asks the store, not us.
We do not sell or share your personal information. The third parties involved are
Google AdMob (solely to serve the banner ad described above) and **Google Play /
Apple's App Store** (solely to process the optional Remove Ads purchase), each under
its own privacy terms.
Qarib is a general-audience app and includes an optional Kids Mode that shows **no
ads**. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a
child has provided personal information, contact us and we will address it.
Because Qarib's ads are non-personalized, the app does not track you across other apps
or websites.
you may have rights regarding personal data. Because Qarib holds no personal data
about you, most such requests are handled directly through your device settings and
Google's controls above. You may also contact us with any question.
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above and publish the new
version at this URL.
