Hello! I'm renting an apartment in nyc in a few weeks and I have no idea what to do with my bathroom doors. For some reason, the bathroom doors are floor to ceiling frosted glass, and I'm not sure what to do with them😭You can see shadows and shapes CLEARLY through the glass and it makes my roommates and I extremely uncomfortable. Modern condo I'm considering renting has frosted glass panel doors to the 2 bedrooms and bathroom.

What could be the reason for this, and how might the sound insulation be like? We bought frosted glass covering for our bathroom window because it's easy to see in at night. Another suggestion was a windowed/frosted-glass door.

I saw some google images of bathrooms with the door in place, but the lights in the bathroom were on, or the bathroom already had windows. Can anyone who has done this (for any windowless or dark room) chime in on how much light could potentially shine through? When we redo our en suite, we're thinking of replacing our dated frosted glass/bronze framed swinging door with clear sliding door.

It's a tiny excuse for a bathroom, about 5 x 5, so the shower is a corner unit. The purpose is 1) barn doors save space and 2) glass let's natural light in. Glass also is rather sturdy unlike walls that can get beat up, need repainting, new wallpaper, etc.

My husband and I are completely remodeling our home. We aren't at the point of replacing our bathroom doors; which are slim, French doors with glass.

The glass is NOT frosted, so there's 0 privacy. I'm just wanting a quick fix that will last until next year. We used privacy film on two windows next to our entry doorway.

It's worked out great, was just a hassle to apply. I saw frosted. It seems like the modern trend is for clear glass shower walls.

I don't love the idea of locking the bathroom door, you guys aren't constantly afraid of your kids walking in on you showering? Plus, if the glass were frosted and you had a light in the hallway, I think all you would see is a diffused reflection of the light bouncing off the wall which would look like light coming from inside the bathroom thru a frosted door. Transom window above the doors definitely worth thinking about but would be more expensive to install.

Frosted glass in the door to a small toilet is an absolute no. Frosted glass in a bathroom door might just be a possibility if the layout means that the bath/shower aren't immediately in front of it but round a corner.
