What are the best lights to brighten up a room? Our main living room has no built in lights so we need to use lamps. It has a slanted ceiling so it is lower on one side and goes up on the other side. The lower side does have windows but there are also big trees outside and especially in winter the room doesnt seem very lit up.

My living room is roughly 15'x15' with a dining room right next to it that does heave ceiling lighting already. I been looking at some LED lamps like this MediAcous LED Floor Lamp And is wondering if that is enough to light up a living room? or will I need like 2 of these on left and right side of living room? Also, there are quite a bit of this type of LED lamps (a pole with adjustable neck), I am not sure which one is actually good quality, or are they all the same just different brand If possible. To achieve it, it'll be better to get diffuse lights rather than the current directional lighting.

Like a large floor lamp with fabric lamp shade this article can help you (+ you need light layers in the middle of the room. a small table lamp on the coffee table will be great:)). If you're able to consider switching out your hanging light fixture, I imagine one of those wheel-style chandeliers with 10+ lights on them might add more light and diffuse over a wider area! Plus it would look gorgeous in that space.
