We had our bathroom designed and installed via wickes. Probably the biggest mistake we've made really and certainly not worth paying a premium for over just getting a local bathroom fitter to take care of everything. We had such a time of it that the ombudsman are reviewing our order and installation issues.

Got a quote from Wickes that materials + labour would cost £12k (London-based). We renovated our kitchen for £15k around 10 years ago, so I'm pretty shocked that a bathroom half the size costs almost the same. Currently pricing up redoing our bathroom of a similar size.

£10k just on materials sounds mad to me. A complete bathroom suite (toilet, sink, bath, shower) should cost less than £2k. 20m2 of wall tiles at £40sqm and 3m2 of floor tiles at £60sqm would cost around £1k.

I've recently had my kitchen and bathroom done by Wickes. It's not really a question of how good they are, because they use local contractors to do the installations. Wickes bathrooms Hi everyone, inspired by a post earlier this week I wondered if anyone had any experience of bathroom installation from Wickes both in terms of quality of the work and any tips for negotiating the price?

We were in Wickes recently and they did seem to have made an effort. We JUST had our kitchen done and the design was by City Plumbing, City Plumbing and Wickes are different brands of Travis Perkins. Wickes did a fantastic job with our bathroom installation.

I have just ordered a new bathroom in the Wickes sale - great price and some good discounts on the products. They are also offering 20% off Wickes installation, bringing the total cost for 'dry' installation to £1900 (for a bath with shower over, built-in sink, back-to-wall built-in loo, and 2 separate cabinets). The trouble is, the estimate for the rest of the installation.

The new bathroom was completely retiled floor to ceiling, LVT on the floor. We have a walk in shower with screen, large mirrored wall cabinet, basin with cabinet below. Neighbour is currently having their recently installed Wickes bathroom ripped out and redone as original installers messed it up.

Leaking shower tray that wrecked the bathroom. I personally would find a local independent with personal recommendations.
