South Park Cottages is located about 10 minutes from Hartsfield-Jackson airport. The complex is referred to as "The Park" by its CEO, Booker T. Washington.
The Park features twenty-nine smaller, modern homes. Residents have between 400 and 600 square feet and a higher chance of ownership. The community is the first of its kind in Atlanta and the first Black-owned micro community in the country.
Washington's dream is now making owning a home a reality for many. The development, spearheaded by Atlanta-native, Booker T. Washington, will include 29 micro homes ranging in size from 335 to 610 square feet.
The price tags? Between $180,000 and $230,000. It's the first black-owned tiny house community in Georgia and from the response, it appears to be much needed. The first micro-home community in Atlanta is expanding, providing more affordable homeownership opportunities for Black families.
South Park Cottages is a project by African American real estate developers that offers energy-efficient and affordable micro homes near Atlanta. The community, which is the largest in Georgia, sold out in 50 days and features advanced technology and design.
