Has anyone ever done beadboard as a backsplash? (Painted with a VERY scrubbable and durable paint, of course.) We're looking to go this route to cover up our 1960s green 1x2 tile backsplash and unify our kitchen. Demoing the tile sounds like an absolute nightmare, so covering it up with beadboard, which I happen to line a lot, seems like a good solution, but I'd love to hear from anyone else. The bead board is wood, but the trim is 3/4 poly, caulked at the bottom and the top where it meets the tile.

I love my beadboard backsplash! It's been about 9 months now, and so far we've had no issues with it. Ours is the t&g kind, not the panels. The BB is installed directly on top of drywall on the wall behind the sink and on on the adjacent wall, it is installed over plaster.

It's been super easy to clean. I just spray it with cleaner if it gets real messy, but usually a damp sponge does the. The geniuses who owned this house before us installed beadboard behind the kitchen sink.
