The Kansas City Coalition for Digital Inclusion recently welcomed Chris Admire, Executive Director of Veterans Community Project (VCP), to present on their innovative housing solutions and support services for veterans experiencing homelessness. Tiny Homes for Veterans Founders of the Veterans Community Project hope to help their fellow servicemen by building a village of 52 tiny homes for homeless veterans in Kansas City.

The 240-square-foot homes will include a bed, kitchen and bathroom. VCP builds communities of tiny homes as transitional housing for homeless veterans. They also provide on-site case management to address underlying issues such as mental health and employment skills, helping veterans get back on their feet and transition into long-term, permanent housing.

Three friends in Kansas City, MO - U.S. veterans themselves - decided to do something about it. Chris Stout, Bryan Meyer and Brandonn Mixon joined together to form the Veterans Community Project (VCP).

The nonprofit is dedicated to ending veteran homelessness by building a specialized community of tiny homes. The Veterans Community Project in Kansas City has taken some beautiful steps of compassion to improve the lives of homeless veterans. Generous donations from community members helped to make possible the construction of the Veterans Village; a collection of small houses that homeless veterans can live in for free.

The Veterans Community Project is located at 8900 Troost Avenue, in an old automobile shop. Across the street is a plot of land. There, they will build over 50 tiny homes to create a Veterans Village.

The facility will house homeless veterans across Kansas City. Every one of these homes will offer veterans a solid, stable life. Chris Stout created the Veterans Community Project.
