A small home is a single-family residence not more than 400 square feet in size. The Oregon Residential Specialty Code, as adopted by the State of Oregon, Building Codes Division, includes portions of the International Residential Code and the International Fire Code pertaining to any construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair and installation of materials and equipment in or part of buildings and structures covered.
The director may report recommendations for amendment of the Small Home Specialty Code to an interim or regular committee of the Legislative Assembly related to business, in the manner provided under ORS 192.245. 455.610 (Low-Rise Residential Dwelling Code). (1) The Director of the Department of Consumer and Business Services shall adopt, and amend as necessary, a Low-Rise Residential Dwelling Code that contains all requirements, including structural design provisions, related to the construction of residential dwellings three stories or less above grade.
