Here is one wonder wall display from this year. Simply put, a wonder wall (aka “wall of inquiry”) is a place in the classroom for students to post topics they wonder about or questions they have. When a student has a question, i hand him or her a sticky note to stick up on the thought bubble on the wall, research it, and report back to the class.

With my units on civilization and earth's changes this year, i found the use of pictures, to get the wheels of curiosity turning, in students' heads, to be especially useful for question generation in order to guide the inquiry.
