Bored with the same purple accent color in Ubuntu? Here are two ways to change the folder colors in Ubuntu. 'Folder Color' lets you change the colour of folders in the file manager without switching icon pack. Ubuntu has a " Folder Color " package in system repository, allows to change the color and add emblem for individual folder.

However, it's only available for Ubuntu LTS, and uses the old default 'Humanity' icon theme, which looks very outdated. When I type ls in gnome terminal directories show up highlighted in green and the text is blue, making it very hard to read the directories. I've tried Edit → Preferences and playing around with the color schemes, but the green highlight stays in place.

maybe its a dumb question, but didnt find a clear solution. How can I change the folder colors found in the same icon pack? I have been uisng manjaro for a while, but only KDE, I made a fresh gnome install and really liked the gruvbox implementation shown in this video How to Make GNOME 44 Look Warm and Aesthetic with Gruvbox Color Theme but with other icons Gruvbox Plus Icon Pack there. Since GNOME 47 introduces accent colors for libadwaita and the GNOME Shell, I wanted to create a small icon theme of matching colored folder icons for Nautilus.

Checkout nautilus-folder-icons. There's also folder-color for changing only the colors. Note that both are not nautilus-folder-icons is not compatible with Nautilus 43+.
