Police arraign three hotel staff for stealing N10 million from employer

Three hotel employees were arraigned before the Iyaganku Chief Magistrates Court on Monday for allegedly stealing N10 million from their employer.
The defendants, Oyindamola Adeyinka, 31, Temitope Adewale, 32, and Ademide Idowu, 27, whose addresses were not provided, pleaded not guilty to two counts of conspiracy and stealing preferred against them.
The prosecution counsel, Akeem Akinloye, told the court that Messrs Adeyinka, Adewale, and Idowu allegedly conspired to commit the offences.
Mr Akinloye said the defendants, a manager, bar attendant and storekeeper at Blue Moon Hotel and Lounge, allegedly committed the offences between May and August.
The prosecutor said the women allegedly stole the N10 million from their workplace, a property of Olawale Odumosu, their employer.
He said the offence contravened sections 390 (9) and 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000.
The chief magistrate, Olabisi Ogunkanmi, admitted each defendant to N2.5 million bail, with two sureties each in like sum.
Ms Ogunkanmi said one of the sureties must be a landed property owner with a valid title of ownership, while the second surety must be a blood relative.
She, thereafter, adjourned the matter till January 14, 2025, for a hearing.
