The ruling was issued by the Criminal Court of Al Kamilin, which found the juvenile, identified by the initials “H.M.”, guilty of involvement with RSF fighters in the area.

WAD MADANI – A criminal court in Al Jazira State has ordered that a minor be placed in a juvenile reform and rehabilitation centre for two years after convicting him of collaborating with the Rapid Support Forces, Sudanese prosecutors said.

The ruling was issued by the Criminal Court of Al Kamilin, which found the juvenile, identified by the initials “H.M.”, guilty of involvement with RSF fighters in the area.

According to the public prosecution’s media office, the child was found to have carried a weapon, worn RSF military uniform and followed RSF elements operating in the village of Kijanna in Al Jazira State, prompting the court to apply laws governing juvenile offenders.

The decision comes as part of broader judicial measures taken by Sudanese authorities against individuals accused of involvement in the conflict, while placing minors in rehabilitation centres rather than adult prisons in line with child protection procedures.

Sudan’s war, which erupted in April 2023 between the RSF and the Sudanese Armed Forces, has increasingly pulled civilians and even minors into the conflict, particularly in central and eastern regions that saw intensified fighting in late 2024 and 2025.
