University Students Protest the New University Funding Model

The University of Nairobi was on Monday disrupted by a wave of student echoing in protest against the government’s newly introduced University Funding Model. The students argued that the new model was discriminatory and punitive, particularly towards students from disadvantaged backgrounds. They claimed that the new system would limit access to higher education for many, as it would make it difficult for students from low-income families to afford tuition fees.
