Welcome to Stone Quarry's Happenings. Here, you will find a variety of activities and practices we call Happenings*, such as events, interviews, exhibitions, and artist-led workshops. We believe that every experience at Stone Quarry, in-person and virtually, is a happening.

From viewing the current works on-site, attending an artist-led experience, reading an interview with a visiting artist. Stone Quarry Hill Art Park is an outdoor sculpture park located near Cazenovia, New York. It is open every day from dawn to dusk.

The Art Park provides outdoor artwork amidst 104 acres of conserved land, along four miles of trails, with views of the rural landscape of Cazenovia and Madison County in Central New York. Stone Quarry Art Park is a private, not-for-profit contemporary outdoor art space founded in 1991. We believe everyone should have access to art and the outdoors.

In addition to working with visiting artists to shape and re-shape the landscape of Stone Quarry Hill, the Park is open to the public every day of the year, from dawn to dusk. Stone Quarry Hill Art Park, with 104 acres of conserved land and over four miles of trails, overlooks the breathtaking rural landscape of Cazenovia and Madison County, New York. This trail offers a chance to experience outdoor sculptures while enjoying the park's scenic beauty.

As you walk the path, you'll encounter various artworks integrated into the landscape, creating a fascinating and engaging experience. The park's setting features natural elements like woodlands and open spaces, providing a peaceful backdrop for both art appreciation and a pleasant stroll. Stone Quarry Hill Art Park is a four-season outdoor art space open to the public every day of the year.

Outdoor artwork takes part in this ever-changing landscape. Along trails and in meadows, agricultural fields, and forests, art interacts with the environment to reveal the changing seasons and passage of time. Stone Quarry Hill Art Park also offers public workshops, events, interviews, and exhibitions - all called "Happenings." The Park is open from dawn to dusk, and encourages the public use of its trails 365 days a year.

The most adventurous visitor can experience art close-up along the Art Park's four miles of hiking trails. Showcasing artworks that are often too large for an indoor gallery, Stone Quarry Hill Art Park replaces the walls of a museum with a backdrop of forest, meadows, ponds, and hills. This amazing and inspirational art park is comprised of 104 acres of conserved land with more than four miles of trails overlooking the breathtaking rural landscape of Cazenovia, located within the Erie Canal.

Stone Quarry's Visiting Artist Program focuses on artists' engagements with the landscape in a variety of materials, approaches, and disciplines. Stone Quarry envisions the park as a boundary object, a space that anyone can imagine, contribute, and collectively shape. The Visiting Artist Program positions responsiveness and collaboration at its center to create inclusive and equitable.
