Hi there, I'm trying to decide between a teak wood or diatomaceous stone bath mat. Both styles have great reviews here and on Amazon. Here's a few questions for people who have experience with either: Wooden bath mats (the kind with gaps between slats): Do they leave your feet feeling wet? I'm hesitant to choose wood for this reason.

I haven't seen it in bath mat form but I have a hinoki cutting board which is helpful because it's a very soft wood (keeps knives sharp), is naturally anti-microbial, and has a very pleasant smell to it, especially after washing. Just realized my teak bath mat has already blown away all previous bath mats with no signs of slowing down. One of my cats loved peeing and throwing up on a cloth/carpet bath mat like one you can cheaply get from target or BBB.

But, she wouldn't do either on our hardwoods. So, I got a wood bath mat about 4 years ago and it's still good as new. It is used daily and left soaking wet. I refinished it after about 4 years, but that was mostly because I wanted to round over the edges a bit more. It holds up extremely well and I have no concern about its upkeep.

We'd love to have a teak bath mat. The question is, do they work well? What happens to the floor underneath the mat? I assume that when you step on the mat, some of the water may go through the cracks to the floor so I'm concerned th. Made with teak or bamboo, the best wooden bath mats are nice to look at and dry quickly.
