The coins were discovered in a small pit under what was once the floor of a Roman building about 450 feet from the famous Roman Bath after which the town was named. Given the wide variety of coins I've encountered, I don't think these are from a single hoard, but rather the kind of mid-to-low grade ancient Roman coins you'd find in an English coin shop.
