Assessing Fish Community Structure and Diversity Across Environmental ...

Conversely, the inner zone, burdened by high organic and pollutant loads, favors species highly tolerant of harsh environmental conditions, such as marine catfishes. Fish communities exhibited spatial changes due to environmental gradients and anthropogenic influences.

Using redundancy analysis (RDA) and variation partitioning, we tested the relative influence of both environmental and spatial variables on fish community structure and related community metrics. Fish were collected from 99 sampling sites distributed across 44 rivers and streams of the Great Morava River Basin, Serbia.

In this study, we investigated fish communities across three sites with distinct structural features and environmental conditions in an urban restored stream located near the lower part of a major river. We analyzed the α- and β-diversity of fish communities and estimated the restored stream's contribution to the river's fish diversity.

GAM results highlighted temperature as a key environmental driver of fish distribution, with significant effects on species abundance at both depths (p < 0.05). These findings underscore the utility of eDNA for monitoring fish diversity and elucidating the ecological mechanisms shaping vertical species distribution in deep-sea ecosystems.

Research on the driving factors of fish community structure and ...

This study utilized eDNA technology, combined with taxonomic and phylogenetic diversity α and β diversity indices, to characterize fish community traits in the Three Gorges Dam (TGD) and investigate the influence of environmental factors on fish diversity.

Understanding the spatial structure and diversity of fish communities in urban environments is crucial for effective conservation and management. Our study investigates the complexity and spatial structuring of fish communities across urbanized watersheds and waterfronts in the Toronto region. We evaluated the influence of environmental factors, including habitat, human impact, and species ...

A comparison of fish community data with reef coral and macroalgae cover at several sites around Polynesia over 11 years and spanning disturbance events suggests that fish community diversity has ...

Core species and interactions prominent in fish

Methods We examined whether time-series analyses of microbial population dynamics could illuminate core components and structure of fish -associated microbiomes in the background ( environmental ) water. By targeting eel-aquaculture-tank microbiomes as model systems, we reconstructed the population dynamics of the 9605 bacterial and 303 archaeal species/strains across 128 days.

Fish communities refer to assemblages of fish species characterized by their species richness and the distribution of individuals among those species. These communities provide an integrated measure of ecosystem health and respond to various environmental factors while reflecting changes due to stressors or disturbances.
