Bmw E64 Engine Swap
Hello BMW experts, I have a question: We have a 2005 E64 645Ci with an N62B44 engine that currently has a steel intake manifold. We need to replace the engine, but the replacement engine we found is the same N62B44, but with a plastic intake manifold. My question is: Can we transfer the steel intake manifold to the new engine and use it?

1. Rebuilt engine started in 2015 and completed in 2019 (long mf'n story) 2. ESS TVS2 1900 supercharger with 2.8" pulley and ecu tune.
I want to replace the engine not to gain some Horse power, but because my engine is dead, and i prefer to take a 650i engine beauce it will be newer (at least 2006 to 2010, compared to 645ci N62B44 between 2004-2005). any idea about the possibility of swap between N62B44 and N62B48? The plan for the new engine is to replace all the seals (timing covers, water pump, coolant pipe, alternator, valve covers, upper/lower oil pan, front/rear crank seal, valve seals, HG).
I initially felt that it would be necessary to take the heads to a machine shop, but given the condition of the engine (and ever depleting funds) I am considering just doing the valve seals and all of the front. Hello, I've loved the look of the e24 and recently acquired a pretty clean and rust free although high mile 89 635 auto and wanted to make my ultimate BMW by swapping in an s54 from an e46. I know this won't be a straight and easy swap, and am prepared to upgrade the chassis, brakes, suspension, etc Does anyone know if this has been done or can refer me to a shop (preferably in Socal) that.

Chevy smallblock swaps are a particular thorn in my side; they've been stuffed into nearly everything from RX-7s to-somewhat perversely-BMWs.
But sometimes it's a V8 being swapped for something else. As someone with a soft spot for BMW's older V8 engines, I can.
