Hi all, My F25 X3 2.0d auto start stop has an interesting problem. At the red lights, engine stops as normal. When brake is released, the engine starts BUT instead of Drive, it will shift into Park by itself.

The BMW keeps going into park and getting stuck into it due to five possible reasons. These reasons include a faulty shift interlock solenoid, issues with the transmission linkage, a malfunctioning brake light switch, a faulty transmission shift cable, or a problem with the transmission itself. I read somethings online that it's just one of those BMW things from this era (which I know from my prior 5 series and 3 series that certain eras just have little errors like this), that the auto stop/start will just randomly put itself into Park sometimes.
It's happens like every 10 or stops for me. It's not a killer or anything, merely annoying. If you drive in ECO PRO mode, then it turns OFF the OFF feature each time you start the car (i.e., Auto Start Stop feature is ON by default).
