Here is a quick and easy solution to permanently disable the auto start/stop feature on the Tundra. This solution isn't for everyone, but it is by far the easiest way to deal with this annoying "feature". I'll post detailed instructions for the nerds and short version for those with minimal attention span.
This Will ONLY Fit Years 2022, 2023, 2024 Tundra (3rd Generation) Models with Stop/Start. This is a custom design just for Toyota Stop/Start Systems. Stop Start "S/S" is a newer "feature" that Toyota has put on Highlanders and other models.
As soon as I got my new 2024 Toyota Tundra, this is the first mod that needed to be done. Initially I found myself getting into the habit or pressing the button to disable the feature, however. The Stop & Start system stops and starts the engine according to brake pedal or shift lever operation when the vehicle is stopped, such as at a stoplight, intersection, etc., in order to improve fuel economy and reduce noise pollution caused by the engine idling.
