The LIN bus for the ambient lighting is basically a giant loop that goes through all of the light modules. If any module is unplugged, all of the ones downstream on the LIN bus will go out. I unplugged the driver's footwell light on my G30 and all of the lighting on the dash, as well as the passenger footwell light, went out.
