Same thing happened to me once. 00A6CF: JBE AUC sensor (great idea is to remove the plastic cover ABOVE cabin air filters, remove sensor power supply, make sure contacts are clean and sensor without obstructions). Instructions on how to change the AUC sensor in a BMW E70 X5.
BMW has used them since the 2000s on many vehicles. An AUC (Air Conditioning Unit Control) sensor open circuit disrupts system signals, causing A/C failure. Check sensor wiring for breaks or corrosion.
The electric fan fault may stem from a blown fuse, faulty relay, or damaged fan motor, leading to inadequate condenser cooling. Inspect fuses and relays in the engine bay fuse box, test fan operation by direct power application, and replace. Fault code A6CF is present on my 130i, and has been for years so it's about time I investigated the problem.
Everything is pointing to the above sensor. Does anybody have one spare? Maybe someone's breaking a 1 series? I cleared all the codes, scanned again, and only one fault code shows up: A6CF JBE AUC sensor. That brings me to the air intake actuator, which I removed in the process to give me extra space. So I don't believe it's that AUC Sensor at all, I erased that error, and no longer get this code, furthermore I think AUC Sensor is really responsible for cabin air circulation.
