Bmw Ix Not Charging
Sometimes the iX will throttle itself down to 7.6 kw or lower on its own and charge from the TUWC. Sometimes the car goes up and down from 0 to 7 or 8 kw with "Charging power reduced" message. Had this on my previous EV (not a BMW).
Back then, there was an issue with the locking pin not clicking into place. Due to safety reasons, charging would not start. Wiggling the charger a bit (and trying a great many times) provided a workaround fix (enough to charge once and go to the dealer at least).

Tried it on another outlet and even with a lower amp, that did not work. solution: Plugged the charger and car into another outlet at a different house, it started charging perfectly fine. Just got a new BMW iX and am seeing an issue with the car not getting the max charging times. It is capable of 11 kWH but at best I can only get 9.5 (with a Chargepoint Level 2 at 48 amps (60 amp breaker). So the last couple times I've charged (use EA charging station), my car would only charge to 250 miles even though I went to 100%.
Normally, the charge is more like 310 or 320. Can't figure it out unless this is a cold weather thing but would love to hear from others what the issue might Be. Time slot charging Not working On the other forum, there is a thread running to 9 pages about it.
