Pictured on Michelin rubber, the 858 CSL also boasts E31-inspired custom taillights, a very neat carbon-fiber aerodynamic diffuser, and a quad. Instead of BMW's ancient V12, Reyn stuffed in a stroked 5.8-liter version of the E60 M5's V10. That's actually where it gets its name-858.

Instead of the E60 M5's maddening "SMG" automated manual transmission, the 858 CSL uses a true six-speed manual. It must sound incredible, too. Some E60 M5 bits have made it inside the 858CSL.

Most BMW fans have a love/hate relationship with the original "E31" 8 Series. On the one hand, it's a gorgeous, classically '80s. Famed designer Jon Sibal created the 858 CSL's carbon-fiber bodywork, with nearly every panel changed.

Gone are the pop-up headlights in favor of slim units in the bumper, which has a design akin. With expert assistance from automotive designer @jonsibal, this E31 features elements inspired by some of the most iconic pieces of BMW design-E30 box flares, an E46 M3 CSL front bumper, and more. The BMW 858 CSL is a unique restomod-style creation based on the E31 8-Series.

Key features include a V10 engine swap from the E60 M5, paired with a manual gearbox.
