The best way to organize these items is withsmall plastic baskets that can fit inside of drawers or on top of dressers and shelves. Wooden cribs and rocking chairs can warp in fluctuating temperatures and absorb water from humid air.
If you want to store a bathtub, carefully inspect the tub for signs of mold. Many tubs have non-slip stickers or bumps, which are prone to mold. For this reason, and because baby bathtubs are relatively inexpensive, they are often not worth storing.

January 8, 2024 -To organize the rest of my baby items, I use an IKEA shelf unit. Here I store blankets, sheets, burp cloths, cloth diapers (diaper covers and inserts in various sizes), extra baby wipes, larger size baby clothing items, washcloths, etc. Avoid vacuum-sealing natural fibers, which can cause the fabric to lose shape and texture over time.
Label each bin clearly and precisely. “Baby clothes” won’t help much a year from now, but “3–6M winter clothes” or “Newborn feeding supplies” give you a clear idea of what’s inside. If you’re using multiple bins, a master list or quick inventory on your phone can be helpful.
Just note which items are stored where.
