The drain being of poor design blocks, water accumulates and forces its way passed a yellow grommet in the bulkhead. Cash be made worse if vehicle parked slightly uphill. Car was taken to BMW main dealer for investigation and this was the issue. Resultant damage. New grommet required, (£30), which will be bonded in previously only.

I decided to replace it in due course and a part was ordered from BMW. The part number of the yellow grommet is 51719151866 "Yellow grommet steering cover" and was less than £30, a small price to pay to keep things dry. With a bit of spare time during COVID 19 lockdown I grabbed my replacement yellow grommet and set to work.
