Rising energy costs, rising demand for high -quality urban living, a preference for compact and 'liveable' cities and, perhaps above all, the need to combat rising greenhouse gas emissions, are the key drivers for net-zero high-rise residential buildings in Australia.
In assessing the feasibility of Net zero high-rise residential buildings , findings from this study suggests that existing building technologies in combination with passive design strategies can meet the requirements necessary to achieve net zero energy performance.

ABSTRACT: The new generation of high-rise and super high-rise buildings is incorporating new developments of technology and design/delivery processes to produce intelligent, high performance buildings . This paper intends to identify the challenges to achieve net zero high-rise building , and analysis the potential technologies and design approaches to make high-rise building net zero .
Under the new requirements, development applications for office buildings , hotels and high-rise apartment blocks must comply with minimum energy ratings from January 2023 and achieve net-zero energy output from 2026.

Furthermore, visual representations like the one above help us fully grasp the concept of Urban High Rise Building Net Zero Energy.
A methodology towards achieving Net zero energy performance for high ...
Achieving Net zero energy (NZE) standards for high-rise residential buildings is a significant challenge. One of the challenges is the absence of detailed design guidelines for selecting systems, technologies and strategies necessary to achieve the goal. For this reason, design practitioners are not empowered to participate in the creation and the proliferation of Net zero ...
