August 13, 2023: Confederation Park (VE-5356) and Hamilton & Scourge Naval Memorial Garden National Historic Site (VE-5929)

Today I wanted to try Confederation Park in Hamilton, and by picking the place carefully I got to activate two parks at once. I probably could have also activated the Great Lakes Park too, but I did that just a couple of days ago.

The bands were much kinder to me than last time, and in less than an hour I got 25 QSOs. The closest QSO was from Hamilton, line-of-sight from the mountain, 8km away. Everything was SSB on 20m.

The setup was very easy as there was a really nice tree located next to a park bench that I used as a table. Here's the bench and tree:

One issue that worried me was there as a Caribbean Family Reunion that had a sound system with 6 speakers playing very nearby. Thankfully nobody heard the music on the other end of the QSO.
