August 20, 2023: Ratrray Marsh Conservation area (VE-5370) and Great Lakes Waterfront Trail Recreation Site (VE-6003)

I have always enjoyed the beach of Ratrray Marsh where you can be close to Lake Ontario and relax. It was even better working POTA! It was difficult going at first, but I got one contact, only at a 2/1 RST, but it made my day!

I got a cheap folding table, like Leo has (VE3ZLG), and it made a huge difference in terms of comfort. Here is the tree that I used, it got the random-wire most of the way up, with a little overlap over the top. But I got it first throw, and decided not to push it.

I operated from 14:49 UTC to 16:14 so just under an hour and a half. I made 12 QSOs, and a few park-to-park contacts.

I took some pictures of the lake as well.
