Nov. 5, 2023, Pier 4 Park, Hamilton, (VE-5114)

This activation was hands-down the most aggravating one yet! I tried to activate the day before, but found that I had left the PL-259 to BNC adapter at home. So I had to return empty-handed. The next day I went back, and when I was within sight of the park, I was rear-ended. The damage was minimal, and nobody was hurt, but it did mean that I had to go to the collision reporting center in Hamilton, and go through all the ordeal of going through the insurance people etc.

The park is quite nice, and near the harbour, and it was a nice, though crisp day.

I took a panorama shot of the harbour. If you click on it, you can enlarge it.

There was a nice picnic table to set up on next to the water's edge. This was the set-up with the Elecraft AX1 antenna, that I tried to use on the unsuccessful day, but had no luck.
