July 7, 2024, Area 8 Conservation Area (CA-5564)

A phenomenally beautifully sunny day, 30°C. Wanted to try a new park, so I picked Area 8 Conservation Area, formerly known as Kelso Quarry. It is a lovely place to canoe, and you can rent them there. I was worried about cell coverage and HF propagation, since I was at the bottome of a quarry, but it turned out brilliantly!

Here's a map of the QSOs. I used the Chellegance vertical tuned for 20m, and 5 watts, CW. Was very pleased to get both Alaska and Sweden!
