September 15, 2024, Terra Cotta Conservation Area (CA-5373)

A nice fall morning to activate a new park. About 40 minutes drive north from the house. This was my 81st activation and my 36th distinct park.

First, driving up, I saw a group of wild Turkeys! They were adorable, and reminded me of when I used to cycle to work in the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee.

The park has wonderful picnic tables underneath big trees for shade, and it could not have been better for activating!

Threw an end-fed random-wire antenna by Packtenna with an arborist line, and got to work.

An obligatory selfie with a cameo of mascot, QRP-Bear.

Here is a map of the QSOs.

After the activation, I went for a walk around the lake, and saw some Bass anglers.
