Today was a day for trying to include as much fun around an errand. Kool, our horse needs a medication, and it's expensive, so we got it at a reasonable vet clinic in Rockwood, ON, about 40 km away. It's a long drive, but it saves more than $700. When I drive there to pick it up, I usually try to fit in a nearby POTA. Last time I did Rockwood Conservation area (CA-5317), this time I drove a further afield, 15 km more, to get to Guelph Lake Conservation area (CA-5318). This was a new park for me, my 47th distinct park.
It was quite cold out, and there was a lot of snow, even in the parking lots, so I mostly just stayed in the car, and had my cocoa and a muffin I bought in Rockwood. I did take these snaps though.
There were a couple of people that were snowboarding with a sail on the frozen lake. I was surprised to see how much frozen water there was compared to in Oakville Harbour.
I was happy that I was able to get a distant Idaho park. I also got Thomas, K4SWL, park-to-park, so now I can review his video and see just how bad I bungled the "CA-5318". Multiple back-to-back numbers throw me...
