It was a beautiful spring day here, with lots of sun. I wanted to activate Oakville Harbour, but I was determined to use the picnic tables, and they were chained together and stacked for winter storage. So, instead I went across the harbour to the other side, and got a picnic table there. It's a nice place, though very busy with people, so I elected to use my magnetic loop on a tripod.
I brought out the large battery, just to give it some practice for Field Day — last year it didn't get much use as the whole day was a rainy fiasco... Also brought the stove and some veggie chili for lunch. JP, VA3JPI visited for a while, which was nice, and he brought his KX2 to christen it.
It was a nice relaxing day, and as there was no hurry, it didn't matter that the first half hour consisted mostly of me spotting myself, then getting displaced by a QRO station, and re-spotting.
