First time trying out the KH1 in Canada, after getting back from Dayton Hamvention! I had a few QSOs on 20m just to try it out. Some learning pains, where I did stupid things that I should have known better. For example, for a half an hour I was transmitting at low power! When you have, at maximum, 5W, you really should not lessen it from that, when you have a compromised antenna! I also forgot, when switching bands, to move the switch that selects the different loading coils! So used to the KX2 and a random wire antenna!

The convenience of the KH1 and fast setup was great for watching my daughter ride in the outdoor arena at the horse barn, and it's great that it is in the Niagara Escarpment Biosphere Reserve (CA-0063).

The included logging pen with the KH1 is nice, and the size of a toothpick, which comes in handy as it seems sometimes both hands are occupied.

I only managed 5 QSOs, but it was fun anyway! The logging with the tray is not too bad at all, really, and I liked that you could use the real time clock, set to UTC, as the logging time. It's a fun little radio!

I also started experimenting with POLO logging, and found that the screen capture of the map is not that bad, and simple.
