Fifty Point Conservation Area

I had today off, being Memorial Day in the USA, and good weather, so I asked Bill, VE3MRX, if he would like to go on an activation. We went to Fifty Point Conservation Area, and we both brought a lot of radio equipment, though we mostly used his KX3, it's companion power amplifier, and a new antenna he got in Dayton. It was deployed with raised counterpoise wires, and they were placed in a way to give it some preference to the west.

Bill took the first shift, and I helped to log. Bill made a lot of long distance QSOs to California, Washington and Oregon. Impressive as it was only 10:30 in the morning, on 20m! Then I took his place, and he logged for me. I did not have quite as much luck, but still pretty good.

After my 17 QSOs, it was time for lunch, and so made a small lunch. Nice to sit in the warm weather! After lunch I made a single contact on the KH1 to Nova Scotia.
