This park is right next to Dundurn Castle, in fact if you choose your activation position strategically you can make it a 2-fer. Last time I activated Dundurn Castle I was so tempted by their nice sheltered picnic area that I did not see the alternative spot I activated on this occasion.
Chris, VA3CJW, who also has an interest in CW accompanied me on this activation. It is always nice to have a chance to socialize in between QSOs.
There was a nice full tree over a picnic table to provide shade. The park is very near the water in terms of line-of-sight, however there is an active railway yard in between. You could hear trains manoeuvring during the activation.
The boundaries of Burlington Heights are not straightforward, to me at least, so I just walked around until I found this plaque that was just a few meters from the picnic table.
Around the castle there was this interesting older building.
The bands were kind, and I deployed the QRP Guys EFRW, and used the KX-2 on 20m, with one 15m contact. It was good to get another new-to-me park in the log as my 63rd park. Here's a map of the QSOs.
