October 25, 2025, Binbrook Conservation Area (CA-5571)

Chris, VA3CJW, was kind enough to drive to this park from my house, which is about an hours drive away. The weather was a little chilly, and overcast, with the threat of rain, but thankfully the rain never came. This park was my 70th distinct POTA entity, needing only five more to level up.

The park has a number of interesting features, such as a tree zip-line, but we gravitated towards the lakefront, near some trees, and set up a table and chairs. This large tree looks good for height and ease of casting a throw-line, so we both took separate branches on the tree below.

The lake, was empty for the most part, but you could see the nice fall colors.

I activated first while Chris got set up, and then I made some Indian Dal on my camp stove that was nice in the chilly air. Here's Chris activating.

And a selfie of the dual activation.

Here is a map of the QSOs. I was happy to get both Michelle HKC1UML and John AA8UP, both from LICW; and and Jim, WBØRLJ on 15m.

It was a great day on what may very well be the last nice autumn day before the cold weather starts!
