Utility Edge device driver for timer and counter functions Now available from my shared projects channel. Once installed to your hub, using the mobile app, perform an Add device / Scan for nearby devices action and a new device labled "Counter Utility" will be created and placed in your 'No room assigned' room. The Edge Counter Utility driver extends the capabilities of the SmartThings platform to provide support for timers and counters.
Device Capabilities This driver provides two distinct capabilities: Track the amount of time (duration) that a switch is 'ON' Increment or decrement a counter based on button presses The devi. This driver creates a device that can be used to (1) track the time (seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks) that a switch is ON, and (2) implement a simple counter based on button presses (can increment or decrement). This may be of help to those who are trying to move webcore pistons to standard SmartThings automations.
For further information on installation and use, see my README file. My. 🧑 💻🧑 💻🧑 💻 Our one-click counter button extension is the perfect solution for anyone who needs to keep track of anything effortlessly.

Hi all, I'm looking for an EDGE driver that will accumulate time (until automatically reset) based upon how long a switch is on or a contact is open/closed. I have a use case with my HVAC system where I accumulate the total time the electric resistance heat (backup heat) operates in a given day.
Gives me an idea of system performance and how high my electric bill will be. Currently doing. Share your Driver If you are a developer and you have created an Edge Driver, Automation or Tool, use the SmartThings EXTRAS marketplace, for free, to make it available to thousands of SmartThings users.
This driver (Edge Counter Utility V1), is available on my shared projects channel here, and discussion can be found in this topic. And here is an example of its use. I also use the Edge Counter Utility to generate a looping effect to check if doors or gates are still open at a recurring set interval (e.g.
every 15 mins). The original device I have used to generate new counter utility devices will no longer create new devices. Not sure if this is a bug in my downloaded driver or something else has gone wrong.
3.Outport values update according to the "Trigger" property. All outports (Frequency, CycleCount, UpTime, DownTime and DutyCycle) update on every rising edge if Trigger is set to Rising Edge, and in each falling edge if the trigger is set to Falling Edge. The Edge Counter Transform has 2 inports and 5 outports.
