An introduction to the Mental Capacity Act This module is for anyone working within Health and Social Care, who are caring and supporting people over the age of 16, in England and Wales. It will assist you in learning how to support people to make decisions, aid you in identifying when a mental capacity assessment is required and how to carry one out appropriately. You will also briefly explore how 'Best Interests' decisions are made and learn your responsibilities in relation to the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards. This is an essential 3 year refresher eLearning course to be completed following attendance of the Introduction to The Mental Capacity Act half day workshop. NB: under special circumstances the scheme may agree for this to be completed instead of the half day workshop but not without agreement. E-Learning 45 minutes

Basic Life Support This module is essential for Shared Lives Carers providing a service in, or based from, their own home. It should be refreshed three yearly. It covers basic life support and is suitable for Shared Lives Carers, Domiciliary Care Workers or Personal Assistants and staff new to care working with adults in Adult Care Provider Services or West Sussex County Council employees in either Adult or Children services who work with adults who require basic life support skills. It does not cover child or paediatric first aid. Half day course

Equality and Diversity Introduction This module is essential for Shared Lives Carers providing a service in, or based from, their own home. It should be refreshed three yearly. The aim of this module is to support you in considering the Equality Law 2010, which protects all, regardless of characteristics, at work. In order to understand the protection in place, you will explore the four main types of discrimination which are experienced in the workplace. You will be encouraged to consider the different protected characteristics specified under the Equality Act, which include: age, race, religion or belief, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, marriage and civil partnerships and finally, pregnancy and maternity E-Learning 15 minutes

Medication - Administration - Level 2 (Residential, Day Centres and Customers own homes) This blended learning is for staff who are responsible for Administering Medication to people living in their own homes, Residential homes and Day centres.

This is a new form of training: An interactive Skype session, supported by individual work before the session. You will need access to a laptop or Electronic Notebook to attend the webinar. The webinar session will go through the answers to the workbook and give you an opportunity to ask any questions and consolidate your understanding.
