The Star Wars squadrons VR experience has faced growing scrutiny over persistent color rendering problems that disrupt immersion during intense space combat sequences. Players report inconsistent lighting, washed-out visuals, and inaccurate color representation across different squad formations, undermining the realism these VR environments strive to deliver. This issue stems primarily from texture mapping inconsistencies and shader calibration errors when rendering large-scale squadrons in dynamic lighting conditions. Developers are actively addressing the problem by refining graphical pipelines, optimizing light interaction models, and enhancing color fidelity during real-time rendering. As the tech evolves, users can expect smoother visuals and more accurate color perception, bringing the Star Wars universe closer to life in virtual reality. For fans craving flawless VR immersion, staying updated on patches and hardware calibration guides is essential to enjoy the squadrons as intended.

I can't remember which exact file, but google it and you'll find it. While fiddling with the settings to get a decent framerate with the game I decided to make a clean install of the newest NVIDIA gaming drivers using DDU, and uninstalled and re-installed Steam VR. Now when I launch Star Wars Squadrons, and only with this game, the colours are completely off (ie very dark).

HL Alyx and other games play just fine. I've been having a lot of fun with Star Wars Squadrons in VR when it first came out. Although the VR version has lower fidelity and blurry stars in the background, the enhanced immersion makes up for it as you can move your head around to see the cockpit and track enemies faster.

Confirmed. Tried it today, and turning HDR solves the problem. Would be nice if there was a way to set HDR to be linked with VR off mode, so it would switch automatically.
