Prior to Ultra Red, Tesla's red is just a regular old not shiny red with no depth and that's what you're going to see the most of. Especially since Ultra red was just introduced to the 3/Y lineup a couple days ago. Tesla announced a brand new paint option earlier this week exclusive to the Model S and Model X called Ultra Red.

Some computer generated images of the new colour were added to the website, but today we get our first real-world look at Ultra Red and a comparison against Tesla's other red. Because the X is larger than the 3, Tesla charges $2,500 for Ultra Red paint instead of $2,000. That means, just like the Model 3, a single paint color can push the Model X over the price limit.
