The Munsell Book is a collection of color chips with varying degrees of hue, value & chroma. Take a small soil sample and match it up with the appropriate color chip to determine that soil's Munsell "code.". Munsell soil color charts were developed with the U.S.
soil conservation service for classifying soil color, but may also be used for rocks, archaeological specimens, and other natural products. hue/value/chroma has been game.
