SmileFile FAQ

  • Where are Smile Files stored?

    All user added data (such as images, text, videos) used to create Smile Files and all app content in SmileFile are stored locally on your device. This data is never transmitted externally.

  • Why are there maximum limits shown for picking multiple images?

    At most 20 items can be added at one time via the multi-pick menu. In addition there is a maximum size for each Smile File (Happy:76, Brave:76, Calm:11, Good Stuff:11). When picking multiple images the maximum number of items you can add based on these two limits is shown.

  • How can I zoom an image?

    Tap the image to enter/exit zoom mode

  • What is the 'shuffled 15' slideshow?

    This is a slideshow of a random selection of 15 items from your Smile File.

  • How can I schedule slideshows?

    The button with the clock icon at the top of the home page opens the scheduler menu

  • How can I stop/start a video?

    If viewing a video, just tap the video to stop/start it. If viewing a slideshow, the slideshow play button will stop/start the video.

  • What is 'Happy + Brave?

    This includes items from both the Happy and the Brave Smile Files.

  • What is the maximum length allowed for a video?

    Videos can be up to 30 seconds long

  • What is the maximum number of videos I can save?

    You can save up to 8 videos per Smile File

  • How can I share a SmileFile item?

    Pick the Smile File (Happy, Brave, Calm or Other) you want to send to and select the 'share an image' option in the add menu. Choose an image, add a tag and caption and use a messaging app from the selection provided (e.g. whatsApp, email) to send it. When the recipient saves the item into their SmileFile it will be loaded directly into their corresponding Smile File.

  • How can I receive a shared SmileFile item?

    Tap on the 'Shared-from-SmileFile' item you received in your messaging app (such as whatsApp or email). Depending on your phone you can then either select SmileFile to open the message or download the message first and then use the messaging apps 'share' function and share into SmileFile. You can then view the item and save directly into the suggested Smile File if you wish
