Histories of Latino/a and Latinx Medicine in California was a poster exhibit at the Lane Medical Library entrance that ran from September 24, 2024 through August 2025. Across those panels it explored medicine and community in California through rancho and town life, physicians and farmworkers, and today’s Latino/a and Latinx California—including health disparities, community-led care, and visibility in the profession. It also highlighted Stanford Medicine’s land history, early Latino/a and Latinx graduates, current student and faculty organizations, clinical programs such as La Clínica Latina, advocacy such as National Latino Physicians Day, and library resources including D-CORE and the Medical History Center.
The physical installation consisted of six poster panels, each 30 in × 70 in. Lauren Watley contributed to the poster design and artwork. William Bottini, Stanford Medicine EdTech creative director, contributed to exhibit image upscaling and exhibit text layout for those panels.
Each comparison shows design direction (left) and the finished entrance exhibit (right). Hover or focus the circular control for a hint, then drag it sideways to reveal more of either side.
