Sylvia
Co-Host · Route & Experience Design

Sylvia has spent many years leading international businesses in the travel and tech industry. She's used to building things that work — across teams, countries, and real-world complexity.

At the same time, she knows exactly what it feels like to be constantly "on": full calendars, responsibility, and very little space to switch off.

Cycling became her way to step out of that. Not to chase numbers, but to find clarity, rhythm, and a different kind of focus.

At the camp, Sylvia brings both worlds together. She designs the overall experience with a clear structure and a lot of care for detail — from the routes and daily flow to all the small things that make a trip feel effortless.

She works with maps, data, and real conditions to shape rides that are well thought through — but never over-engineered. Challenging when they should be, relaxed when it matters.

What you'll feel most, though, is a quiet sense of ease: you don't have to plan, optimise, or organise anything. Everything is taken care of — so you can simply ride, breathe, and reset.

What people say

The pace was perfect — challenging enough to feel earned, relaxed enough to actually look up and take in the landscape. I came for the cycling and left with three new friends and a completely different relationship with hills.

Sarah M.

Marisa and Sylvia thought of absolutely everything. Routes, food, coffee stops — even a spare rear derailleur when mine gave up on day three. The Strade Bianche sections were the highlight of my whole cycling year.

Thomas R.
Cologne, Germany

I was nervous about keeping up with the group. By day two those nerves were completely gone. It's not a race — it's a shared experience. The estate felt like a home, the rides felt like adventures. Already booked for next year.

Chianti Classico

Stretching between Florence and Siena, Chianti Classico is one of Italy's most iconic wine regions — and one of its finest cycling landscapes. Rolling hills draped in vineyards and olive groves, narrow roads threading through medieval villages, and the famous white gravel tracks known as Strade Bianche that have turned this corner of Tuscany into a pilgrimage for cyclists worldwide.

The Villages

Gaiole in Chianti — our base, a quiet hilltop village at the heart of the region, home of L'Eroica and surrounded by castle estates and ancient abbeys. Radda in Chianti — a perfectly intact walled medieval village 10 km away, ideal for a mid-ride espresso stop. Castelnuovo Berardenga, Panzano, and Greve in Chianti all sit within an easy ride, each with their own character and history.

The Roads

Expect everything from smooth cypress-lined tarmac to the chalky white gravel of the Strade Bianche — the same roads raced by the pros each March. The terrain is genuinely hilly: short punchy climbs, long grinding ascents, and rewarding descents with views across the valley. Traffic is minimal in October, leaving the roads almost entirely to cyclists, farm vehicles, and the occasional herd of sheep.

L'Eroica & Cycling Culture

Gaiole is the birthplace of L'Eroica, the legendary vintage cycling event held every October that draws thousands of riders on steel frames and wool jerseys to celebrate the old roads and old ways. The cycling culture here runs deep — local cafés know what a cyclist needs, the roads are mapped and understood, and the community that has built up around riding in Chianti is warm and genuinely welcoming.
