Privacy Policy — SoundBloom Preschool Phonics

SoundBloom Preschool Phonics ("the App") is a children's phonics and reading practice application for Android. This privacy policy describes how we handle information in connection with the App. We are committed to protecting children's privacy and complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

2. Children's Privacy

The App is designed for children ages 3–7 and is intended to be used under parental supervision. We take children's privacy seriously and have designed the App with the following principles:

We do not collect personal information from children.
We do not require accounts or registration.
We do not allow children to share information with third parties.
We do not serve advertisements.
We do not use behavioral tracking or profiling.

3. Information We Collect

Information Stored on Your Device Only

The App stores the following data locally on your device only. This data is never transmitted to us or any third party:

Learning progress: Which letters and words your child has practiced, spaced repetition scheduling data, and session history.
App preferences: Settings such as theme selection, session length, and deck configuration.

This data exists only on your device. It is not backed up to any server, and we have no access to it. Uninstalling the App removes all of this data.

Crash Reports (Firebase Crashlytics)

To improve the App's stability, we use Firebase Crashlytics, a crash reporting service provided by Google. When the App crashes, Crashlytics may automatically collect:

The type of device and operating system version
The state of the App at the time of the crash
A randomly generated installation identifier (not tied to your identity)
Crash stack traces (technical information about what caused the crash)

Crashlytics does NOT collect:

Your child's name, age, or any personal details
Learning progress or session data
Location information
Advertising identifiers
Photos, audio, or video

Crashlytics data is used solely to identify and fix bugs. It is processed by Google under their data processing terms and is not used for advertising or profiling. We have disabled Google Analytics and advertising identifier collection within the App.

In-App Purchases (Google Play Billing)

The App may offer optional in-app purchases (such as additional content packs). Purchases are processed entirely by the Google Play Store. We do not collect, see, or store any payment information (credit card numbers, billing addresses, etc.). Google's own privacy policy governs payment data. Our App receives only a purchase confirmation to unlock the content.

We do not use any data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than those listed above.

5. Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties.

The only data that leaves your device is crash report data sent to Firebase Crashlytics (described in Section 3 above), which is used exclusively for bug fixing. No personal information about your child is included in crash reports.

We do not use any advertising SDKs, analytics services (other than Crashlytics), social media integrations, or other third-party services.

7. Parental Rights

Under COPPA and other applicable laws, parents and guardians have the right to:

Review any information collected from their child — since we do not collect personal information, there is nothing to review on our servers. On-device data (learning progress) is visible directly within the App.
Request deletion of their child's information — you can delete all App data by uninstalling the App or using the "Reset Progress" option in Settings.
Refuse further collection — you may uninstall the App at any time to stop all data storage.

8. Data Security

All learning data is stored locally on your device using Android's built-in data storage mechanisms. No data is transmitted over the internet except crash reports, which are sent over encrypted (HTTPS) connections to Google's servers.

9. Data Retention

On-device data is retained until you uninstall the App or reset progress within the App.
Crash reports are retained by Firebase Crashlytics for up to 90 days, after which they are automatically deleted.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
