Enough said. The summation of all this popped into my head during the first week I spent with the 330Ci. It took a little longer to pin down the above details but they did not change my conclusion: The E46 is the best 3 Series BMW ever made.

The N52 will be very very reliable if you take care of it. Same is true for the M54 but not quite as much. There was a time when the BMW 3 Series was an aspirational car for the young executive.
